Justin Ericson CPA, MAICD, JP (Qual)
Justin is a Certified Practicing Accountant with specialist knowledge in tax, corporate recovery, asset protection and finance. Justin has sound industry knowledge spanning property, rural enterprise, international business, charity law, indigenous corporations and corporate structuring. His proven experience also encompasses business turnaround, succession planning, corporate risk management, structuring of joint ventures and syndicated deal platforms.
Justin has been in public practice for over 11 years and has developed considerable business experience and acts for clients in various business roles that go beyond accounting such as Virtual CFO, Chairman and/or CEO of various medium size entity’s both locally and internationally.
Jacqui is our Team Administrator of many hats, is a valued member of our firm. Jacqui has in excess of 14 year’s experience with local accounting firms. Jacqui attends to all our company secretarial matters, registers, trust deeds, ATO compliance and registrations. In addition to these tasks she also attends to client payroll, super streaming compliance and the general day to day support and administration of the office and our valued team. Jacqui enjoys travel, family and friends and her cherished dog Pantha.
Melinda was raised in Cairns and has 26 years’ experience working in an accounting office. She has had many roles including secretary, office manager and personal assistant before studying and obtaining a Diploma in Accounting. Melinda has been working as an Accountant for the past 18 years in all areas including business advisory, taxation compliance and self-managed superannuation funds.
Melinda prides herself on having a professional yet friendly relationship with all clients some of whom she has worked with for the past 20 years.
Melinda enjoys the simple things in life which is spending time with family and friends and loves meeting new people and being involved in the community.
Hongyu Feng CPA, CTA, JP (Qual)
Hongyu began working with Justin as an undergraduate accountant. He completed a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Accounting and International business in 2010 and later became a Certified Practising Accountant in 2013.
Hongyu Specialises in the taxation of companies, trusts and partnership. He assists client with all facets of their business and taxation needs. In having the desire to continue his professional learning path, Hongyu undertook post graduate education and became a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2014.
Hongyu is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified). He can also read and speak fluently in Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
In his spare time, Hongyu enjoys spending time with family and friends. And he also likes to play tennis, jogging, golf, fishing, reading and chess.
Stephen was born in South Africa and moved over to Australia in September 2010 and in this process has learnt to effectively interact with many different cultural and ethical groups.
In 2013 Stephen was chosen as School Captain for Redlynch State College, in which he demonstrated an inspiring aptitude to lead over his peer groups by motivating and encouraging them in their roles for the school.
At the end of 2013 Stephen was given runner up for the Keith Goodwin Memorial Scholarship in business. He was accepted into James Cook University to study his Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting. He commenced his employment at Acumen Accounting in July 2014.
In his spare time, Stephen is involved in the leadership team at Freshwater Church where his primary involvement is in the Youth ministry. He plays guitar, piano, bass and also sings in the church band.
Stephen strives for client satisfaction and enjoys working with people.
