Justin graduated from James Cook University Cairns in 2006, where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honors. He majored in accounting and upon graduating accepted a partnership position with one of the top accounting firms in the Cairns Tablelands. Justin is a Certified Practicing Accountant with specialist knowledge in tax, corporate recovery, asset protection and finance. He has sound industry knowledge spanning property, rural enterprise, international business, charity law, indigenous corporations and corporate structuring. His proven experience also encompasses business turnaround, succession planning, corporate risk management, structuring of joint ventures and syndicated deal platforms. Justin has been in public practice for over 15 years and has developed considerable business experience. He acts for clients in various business roles that go beyond accounting, such as Virtual CFO, Chairman and/or CEO of various medium size entity’s both locally and internationally. Origin: Mareeba
Jacquie has worked in varying accounting roles both in the commercial sector and Public Practice for over 20 years. She brings a wealth of experience, impeccable attention to detail, solid experience in management reporting and statutory compliance, along with strong initiatives and personal drive to achieve the best in her performance and positive outcomes for her clients. Jacquie is very personable and engages with her clients happily, forming strong working relationships built on trust and recognised professional skills, informed and strategic advice that is comprehendible and simple to follow. Some areas of expertise include business services, management reports and projections, taxation and taxation law, tax compliance, extensive knowledge of accounting software packages, client assistance and guidance to improve their skills in order to better understand their own business. Jacquie is an integral part of our team and the general community where she participates on a number of community boards, giving guidance, mentoring and leadership by example. Having graduated from a reputable Swiss hospitality school and working in various managerial roles in the industry for 14 years, including running his own business overseas, Rahul brings with him rich and diverse knowledge which is particularly beneficial when understanding the core needs of small and medium sized businesses. Through his years in the hospitality industry, he found a keen interest in finance and accounting and pursued that interest by completing his MPA at JCU and went on to further obtain his CPA. With 7 years’ experience as a Tax and Business Advisor, Rahul’s keen interests lie in helping small to medium businesses achieve their potential by collaborating with clients from inception, right through to operation and transition. He always finds time for his clients and simplifies complex technical tax and business jargon for them. Rahul is detail-oriented, organised and a skilled communicator. He possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well thought out decisions. Rahul is family oriented and spends his free time with his young and energetic family. Stephen was born in South Africa and moved to Australia in September 2010, in this process he learned to effectively interact with many different cultural and ethical groups. In 2013 Stephen was chosen as School Captain for Redlynch State College, in which he demonstrated an inspiring aptitude to lead over his peer groups by motivating and encouraging them in their roles for the school. At the end of 2013 Stephen was given runner up for the Keith Goodwin Memorial Scholarship in business. He was accepted into James Cook University to study his Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting, which he graduated from early in the year 2017. He commenced his employment at Acumen Accounting in July 2014 and completed completed his studies to become a Chartered Accountant in 2020. In his spare time, Stephen is heavily involved in CLEAR Ministries Church where his primary involvement is in the Youth ministry, doing community work and on band.
